Service Technical Support / Service Technician – Cape Town

About the role

The Technical Service Support Specialist provides technical assistance to service providers and dealership technicians across Cape Town, ensuring OEM service standards for commercial vehicles. The role involves diagnosing faults, supporting complex repairs, handling warranty claims and delivering technical training.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and on‑site assistance for fault diagnosis and complex repairs.
• Assist in delivering and preparing technical training sessions for technicians.
• Collect, verify and process warranty and claim information, communicating settlements.
• Gather and report product quality feedback, supporting corrective actions.
• Document typical fault cases and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Automotive engineering or related technical qualification (automotive technician certificate or diesel mechanic trade test advantageous).
• Valid driver’s licence (Code 8; Code 14 advantageous).
• Minimum three years’ experience in truck or commercial‑vehicle maintenance, servicing or diagnostics.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, chassis and powertrain systems.
• Customer‑focused mindset with basic data‑analysis abilities.

Required skills

• Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams and technical reports.
