Compliance Specialist – In-Office, Cape Town

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Compliance Specialist to take ownership of all FAIS, FICA, and FSCA compliance requirements while providing secretarial & corporate governance support to this leading private equity firm.

Key responsibilities

• Appointed FSCA Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Control Officer for the Category I & II FSP, responsible for the Risk Management and Compliance Programme, compliance monitoring, and regulatory reporting to the FSCA and FIC.
• Oversee FICA/KYC onboarding and due diligence for Limited Partners across two private equity fund structures, track Key Individual and Representative Fit & Proper status, and liaise directly with regulators, auditors, and external compliance consultants.
• Coordinate board packs, minutes, resolutions, and CIPC filings, providing comprehensive secretarial and governance support across the group.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Law, Commerce, or Compliance.
• FAIS‑recognised compliance qualification or FSCA Fit & Proper status as a Compliance Officer.
• 4+ years of experience in private equity or financial services compliance, with proven Category I & II FSP compliance experience.
• Expert FICA/AML knowledge, including LP/fund onboarding; company secretarial or governance support experience is advantageous.
