Business Management Consultant – Broker Consultant

About the role

The Business Management Consultant will act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of Independent Financial Advisors, building trusted partnerships and guiding them toward innovative financial solutions. You will leverage deep knowledge of FNB Life, Investments and other FirstRand products to support advisors’ business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Relationship Management – develop and maintain strong rapport with IFAs, understanding their goals and acting as a trusted advisor.
• Product Advocacy and Training – promote FNB Life, Investments and broader FirstRand solutions, providing product guidance and training.
• Business Development – identify and pursue new opportunities to drive sales growth within the IFA channel.
• Service Excellence – deliver exceptional service that exceeds advisor expectations.
• Collaboration Facilitation – liaise between advisors and internal product specialists to address complex requirements.
• Market Intelligence – stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity and product enhancements to offer strategic advice.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification and NQF 5 qualification.
• 3‑5 years experience in broker consulting within the Investments and IFA environment.
• At least 3 years experience in Life Assurance.
• Relevant Class of Business training.
• Strong understanding of Group Risk, Individual Life and Investment products.
• Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills with a client‑centric approach.
• Demonstrated commercial and sales acumen.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a curious, adaptable mindset.
• Willingness to travel locally as required.
• Solid technical understanding of the advisor process in the insurance sector.
