Branch Consultant / Financial Advisor (Overport)

About the role

Sanlam Developing Markets is seeking a Branch Consultant/Financial Advisor to promote Sanlam Retail Mass products in Overport. The role focuses on delivering sound financial advice, increasing market share and providing high‑level client service within a branch environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop in‑depth knowledge of SRM product ranges and match them to customers’ financial goals and means.
• Provide tailored advice, submit new business, and conduct due‑diligence to identify and flag risks.
• Manage daily appointments, walk‑in clients and follow‑up activities to maximise sales opportunities.
• Service existing client portfolios, send payment reminders, handle policy cancellations and negotiate alternative payment arrangements.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and quality standards, log all activities and report daily and monthly performance using the branch’s technology platforms.
• Monitor client persistency, manage NTU controls and take corrective actions to retain business.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification; RE5 advantageous.
• FAIS compliance as required by DOFA and willingness to complete Class of Business training within 12 months.
• Strong business insight, decision‑making ability and capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to plan, align activities and contribute to branch targets.
