Bookkeeper – Full‑time Finance Role in Johannesburg West

About the role

Our client, a leading industrial engineering company, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage the complete finance function across two business branches in Johannesburg West. The role involves end‑to‑end bookkeeping, financial reporting and ensuring statutory compliance in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger, produce trial balances and financial statements.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, perform bank reconciliations and cash‑book management.
• Handle inventory accounting, stock reconciliations and VAT returns.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and compile management reports.
• Ensure accurate, compliant and timely financial records for both branches.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping or related qualification (advantageous).
• Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably managing multiple branches.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of SAP Business One.
• Working knowledge of Sage.
