Assistant Resident Manager

About the role

The luxury property in Bela Bela seeks a proactive Assistant Resident Manager to support the Resident Manager in delivering exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence across all departments.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Manager in overseeing daily lodge operations, focusing on the Rooms Division.
• Manage Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Reservations and Spa functions to ensure high service standards.
• Drive revenue optimisation, occupancy targets and profitability.
• Lead, motivate and develop departmental teams, conducting regular inspections and performance reviews.
• Monitor guest feedback, resolve issues promptly and maintain compliance with SOPs, health and safety regulations.
• Build strong relationships with guests, suppliers and service providers.
• Support staff training, coaching and performance management.
• Provide relief for the Resident Manager as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior Rooms Division role such as Assistant General Manager or Assistant Resident Manager.
• Proven leadership and team‑management abilities in large hotel or lodge operations.
• Strong understanding of Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Reservations and Spa processes.
• Excellent guest relations, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Sound financial knowledge including budgeting and revenue management.
• Ability to work hands‑on in a fast‑paced, high‑occupancy environment.

Required skills

• Opera Cloud (property management system) experience.
