Architect Technologist

About the role

Design and develop cost‑effective concept layouts that meet Mediclinic’s operational and regulatory standards, while continuously improving the design and nursing processes. The role supports the Architectural Design Team in delivering high‑quality commercial healthcare facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform concept planning and detailed development within the Architectural Design Team.
• Ensure implementation of architectural design principles across projects.
• Implement workflow management for multiple concurrent projects.
• Continuously improve facilities and processes within the team.
• Carry out administration and record‑keeping duties.
• Assist with commissioning of designed facilities within infrastructure.
• Maintain stakeholder and client relationships.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Architectural Technology (3 years).
• Minimum 3–5 years experience in Architectural Technology for commercial architecture.
• Desired 5–7 years experience in the same field.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of construction processes.
• Understanding of architectural design principles (SANS 10400 / NBRCaddie).
• AutoCAD.
• Healthcare design expertise.
• SketchUp.
• Familiarity with PN 187 / R158 standards.
