Senior Engineer - Water

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Engineer to join its Water team in Centurion, South Africa. The role involves leading hydraulic and water infrastructure design activities, providing technical guidance, and ensuring high‑quality project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hydraulic modelling, surge and transient wave analyses.
• Design bulk water and sewage infrastructure, including pump stations, reservoirs and reticulation systems.
• Prepare project specifications, bills of quantities and tender documentation.
• Conduct water and sewer master‑planning, flood‑risk assessments and related studies.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers throughout project phases.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of experience in water and sewage engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (master’s degree advantageous).
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Hydraulic modelling and surge analysis.

• Master‑planning and flood‑risk assessment.
• Software: Bentley Hammer, waterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks, InfoWater, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS.
