Financial Manager – Foreign Exchange & Hedge Accounting

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Finance Manager to lead our foreign exchange and hedge accounting activities. The role will ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective management of currency risk to support commercial profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor foreign currency exposure and execute forward‑cover strategies to minimise exchange‑rate risk.
• Settle Letters of Credit and foreign‑exchange contracts in line with company policy.
• Prepare monthly and ad‑hoc reports on forward‑cover positions and hedge‑accounting calculations.
• Forecast the impact of FX movements on income statements and cash‑flow balances and manage foreign‑currency budgets.
• Identify process improvements, automation opportunities and optimise local‑currency invoicing.
• Produce accurate financial and management reports, perform monthly reconciliations of FX‑related accounts and support audit processes.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)).
• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience in foreign‑exchange management, hedge accounting and currency‑risk management.
• Experience in financial and management reporting, preferably within retail, FMCG, trading, manufacturing or distribution.

Required skills

• SAP S/4HANA (advantageous).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office applications.
