Enrolled Nurse – Home Health & Hospital at Home

About the role

Discovery Health is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care to patients in the comfort of their own homes. You will work autonomously, following agreed care plans and protocols, to support early discharge and admission avoidance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform holistic, patient‑centred assessments in the home and develop shared management plans.
• Provide clinical interventions such as cannulation, IV antibiotics, IV fluids, IV medications, nebulisers and wound care.
• Recognise and act on emergency situations (e.g., anaphylaxis, cardiac or respiratory deterioration).
• Communicate assessment findings and care needs clearly to medical teams and multidisciplinary partners.
• Set up, maintain and troubleshoot remote monitoring devices, coordinating with vendors as needed.
• Document patient and service records accurately in line with POPIA and ensure safe handovers.

Required profile

• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and currently practising.
• Minimum 3 years clinical experience in an acute‑care hospital setting.
• Own transport and a valid driver’s licence for patient visits.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Two‑year nursing diploma or degree.

Required skills

• Cannulation and IV therapy administration.
• Wound care and phlebotomy.
• Basic Life Support.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer literacy.
• Experience with remote monitoring devices and troubleshooting.
