Business Analyst – Investment Advisory

About the role

A global investment advisory firm focused on long-term value creation through investment strategies is hiring a Business Analyst in Cape Town. The role is hybrid, on a 6 to 12 month contract, and sits within a large, dynamic organisation that invests heavily in employee wellness and benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Identify business problems, challenge proposed solutions and define clear, measurable outcomes before agreement.
• Assess options, trade-offs, risks and value together with technology and business stakeholders.
• Elicit, document and validate requirements, acting as the single point of truth for the project.
• Prepare process flows, user stories and test scripts, manage delivery milestones and escalate blockers.
• Support data mapping and validation, and share progress through reports and dashboards (e.g. Power BI, Excel).
• Manage Agile artifacts (e.g. JIRA), keep stakeholders informed and improve team tools, templates and processes.

Required profile

• Experience across the full delivery lifecycle, preferably on complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Ability to articulate own contributions and run workstreams with minimal oversight.
• Track record of engaging directly with senior stakeholders, with strong problem-solving and documentation discipline.
• Clear written and verbal communicator, able to present findings and give constructive challenges.
• Prior experience in financial services, investment operations, consulting or credit investment processes is required.

Required skills

• Strong Excel and familiarity with analytical tools (SQL, Power BI)
• Data integration (APIs, ETL), workflow/CRM platforms and Agile/Scrum delivery models
