Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Industrial & Organisational Psychology

About the role

We are seeking qualified academics to join our Department of Industrial and Organisational Psychology as an Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer or Lecturer. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, lead research projects, supervise postgraduate students and help coordinate the Master of Commerce in Industrial Psychology.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and tutorials in Industrial and Organisational Psychology, Employment Relations and Human Resource Management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Design, develop and assess course materials and examinations.
• Conduct high‑quality research, publish in accredited journals and present findings at conferences.
• Supervise Honours and Master’s students, providing guidance on theses and dissertations.
• Coordinate the Master of Commerce Industrial Psychology programme, including module planning and student administration.
• Contribute to academic administration, departmental meetings and provide academic leadership.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the School of Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology for Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer positions; Master’s degree for Lecturer position.
• Professional registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an Industrial Psychologist.
• Relevant teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (3‑7 years for Associate Professor, 1‑5 years for Senior Lecturer, appropriate experience for Lecturer).
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate Master‑level programmes (for Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor).
• Record of publications in accredited journals and presentations at conferences.
• Successful supervision of postgraduate research projects.
