Site Agent – Civil Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Agent to lead civil infrastructure construction projects across KwaZulu‑Natal. The role involves managing day‑to‑day site operations for roads, stormwater, bulk earthworks, water and sewer reticulation, pipelines and reinforced concrete structures.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors according to project programmes.
• Supervise construction teams, enforce compliance with drawings, specifications and quality controls.
• Maintain health, safety and environmental compliance, conduct toolbox talks and incident investigations.
• Assist with contract administration, including claims, variations, daily diaries and progress reporting.
• Engage with engineers, consultants, clients, subcontractors and local authorities.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of civil construction experience, preferably on roads, earthworks and municipal infrastructure.
• National Diploma or BTech in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Professional registration with ECSA or SACPCMP is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within KZN.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Project and Excel.
• Experience with construction reporting systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of COLTO/COTO specifications and GCC/FIDIC contract frameworks.
