Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Product Development

About the role

We are seeking a senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the creation of innovative consumer and outdoor products. Based in La Mercy, you will take concepts from idea through to production, ensuring high quality, cost‑effectiveness and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and development of new mechanical products from concept to production release.
• Develop and maintain project timelines, coordinating internal teams and external partners.
• Improve existing products through innovative design solutions.
• Recommend optimal manufacturing methods and materials.
• Conduct prototyping, testing and validation to ensure performance and reliability.
• Produce detailed engineering documentation, specifications and drawings.
• Perform feasibility studies, cost estimations and competitive testing.
• Troubleshoot design challenges and deliver scalable solutions.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting budget, schedule and quality targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in consumer or outdoor product design.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience in costing and timeline management.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (3D CAD).
• Knowledge of plastic injection moulding.
• Knowledge of die‑casting processes.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication.
