Senior Engineer / Technologist – Water & Sanitation

About the role

We are a well‑established consulting engineering firm seeking an experienced Senior Engineer/Technologist to join our Water and Sanitation division in East London. The role focuses on designing and delivering municipal water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure projects that support sustainable development across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed designs for water reticulation, sewer networks, pump stations, bulk pipelines and stormwater systems.
• Develop tender and contract documentation and support construction monitoring and contract administration.
• Conduct hydrological investigations, flood‑line determinations and related analyses.
• Manage project budgets, timelines and client liaison activities.
• Mentor and supervise junior technical staff.
• Contribute to business development and proposal preparation.

Required profile

• BSc/BEng/BTech in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (Pr Eng or Pr Eng Tech) preferred; candidates within 12 months of registration may be considered.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in water and sanitation projects within a consulting environment.
• Strong design and project experience in water reticulation, sewer reticulation, pump stations, bulk pipelines and stormwater systems.
