Regional Legal Counsel – Africa

About the role

G4S is seeking a seasoned Regional Legal Counsel to support its African operations from Centurion, South Africa. Reporting to the Regional General Counsel (Africa), you will ensure compliance, protect the business, and align commercial activities with global standards.

Key responsibilities

• Corporate Governance: Attend board and shareholder meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and support legal restructuring and shareholder transactions.
• Commercial & Procurement: Review and negotiate customer and supplier contracts, manage RFP processes, and oversee contract renewals.
• Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Manage customer claims and coordinate external counsel for insured and uninsured matters.
• Compliance: Monitor and renew all business licences in a timely manner.
• Reporting: Maintain internal legal systems and provide regular reports to local, regional, and Group management.

Required profile

• Law degree from a recognised university.
• Admitted attorney status.
• Minimum five years post‑qualification experience, preferably in a law‑firm environment with corporate and commercial transaction exposure.
• Fluency in English; Portuguese is an advantage.
