Quality Control and Food Safety Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control and Food Safety Manager to lead all quality assurance and food safety functions within a food manufacturing business. The role ensures products meet regulatory, customer and company standards while driving continuous improvement across safety systems and operational processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain quality control systems and procedures.
• Monitor production processes, identify issues and drive corrective actions.
• Manage product testing, inspections, audits and investigation of complaints or non‑conformances.
• Maintain the Food Safety Management System and ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, GMP and relevant legislation.
• Lead internal and external food safety audits, traceability, allergen management and sanitation standards.
• Mentor the quality and food safety team and deliver training on standards and hygiene.
• Collaborate with production, procurement and warehouse teams to achieve quality objectives.
• Support new product development, supplier quality monitoring and equipment calibration.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quality Control or Food Safety Management role within food manufacturing.
• Proven leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
