Professional Nurse – Medical

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a Professional Nurse to join its multidisciplinary team and deliver safe, comprehensive, and high‑quality nursing care. The role involves collaborating with a multi‑professional team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and a positive client experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi‑professional team.
• Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive client experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Create a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charted.

Required profile

• Diploma leading to registration as a General Nurse OR a 4‑year Nursing Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing.
• Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Midwifery (desired).
• Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (e.g., Critical Care, Emergency Care, Peri‑operative Nursing) for specialist units (desired).
• No minimum experience required.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Infection prevention and control knowledge.
• Ability to develop and modify nursing care plans.
• Patient assessment skills.
• Pharmacology knowledge.
• Risk identification and management.
