Professional Nurse – Endoscopy

About the role

The Professional Nurse – Endoscopy works within a multi‑professional team to deliver safe, comprehensive, and high‑quality nursing care in line with scope‑of‑practice regulations. The role involves leading and coordinating nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes in the endoscopy department.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi‑professional team.
• Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive client experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Create a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charted.

Required profile

• Essential education: Diploma leading to registration as a General Nurse OR 4‑year Nursing Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing.
• Desired education: Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Midwifery; Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (e.g., Critical Care, Emergency Care, Peri‑operative Nursing) for specialist units.
• Essential experience: None required.

Required skills

• Basic life support training (ACLS, ATLS, PALS).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to develop and modify nursing care plans.
• Infection prevention and control knowledge.
• Patient assessment skills.
• Pharmacology knowledge.
• Risk identification and management.
