Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Procurement Specialist will manage the purchase of commodities, materials, and services required by our manufacturing operations. You will ensure that all acquisitions meet cost, quality, and delivery targets while complying with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials and services in line with cost, quality and delivery objectives.
• Communicate and resolve supply issues that could impact the business.
• Obtain quotes, conduct price checks, negotiate prices and raise purchase orders.
• Expedite deliveries and source alternative suppliers when needed.
• Maintain and improve procurement support programs and initiatives.
• Monitor procurement processes, systems and trends to boost productivity and efficiency.
• Liaise with suppliers, internal management and other departments.
• Resolve price and invoice discrepancies with suppliers.
• Prepare and update procurement reports and cost‑saving analyses.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Procurement (Degree or CIPS Level 6) or equivalent.
• Minimum NQF level 6 and 5+ years of experience in procurement, commercial or supply‑chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with an ERP system; SAP experience is highly advantageous.
• Prior exposure to Tender and RFQ processes is a plus.
• Valid South African driver’s licence.
