About the role
Dis‑Chem is looking for a motivated Pharmacy Intern to join the Riverside store in Queenstown. The placement is designed to give you hands‑on experience in all core areas of a community pharmacy while supporting patient‑centred care.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the supervising pharmacist with the sale and dispensing of Schedule 1‑6 medicines.
- Support compounding, manipulation and preparation of sterile and non‑sterile medicines following SOPs.
- Handle re‑packaging, stock control and ordering of pharmaceutical products.
- Read and interpret prescriptions, verify patient details, and ensure accurate picking and packing of medication.
- Provide customers with clear instructions on medication use and promote health‑related information.
Required profile
- Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
- Enrolled in or completed a four‑year BPharm degree.
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office.
- Availability to work during holidays or as a part‑time placement.
- Familiarity with Unisolve and E‑Scripting is an advantage.
