Metallurgical Process Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Metallurgical Process Technician to join a leading manufacturer of mineral processing equipment. Based in Johannesburg, you will support laboratory, pilot‑scale, and field projects that optimise flotation and magnetic separation processes for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute laboratory and pilot‑scale metallurgical test programs, analyse data and produce reports.
• Assist with installation, commissioning, operation, troubleshooting and optimisation of flotation and related equipment at customer sites.
• Conduct sampling campaigns, prepare samples for analysis and record technical test data accurately.
• Prepare technical reports, commercial proposals, equipment recommendations and project documentation within agreed timelines.
• Support full lifecycle management of customer projects, from proposal development to final presentations.
• Provide technical support to clients, identifying process improvements and recommending innovative solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, operating procedures and best practices, and help develop operating manuals, training materials and process flowsheets.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Process, Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant metallurgical or mineral processing experience.
• Experience executing laboratory and pilot‑scale test campaigns.
• Exposure to industrial mineral processing plants, especially flotation and magnetic separation.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally to customer sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
