Manufacturing Accountant – Automotive Production

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join a leading automotive manufacturing company in Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg. The role combines finance expertise with close interaction with production, inventory and work‑in‑progress processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting function through to trial balance.
• Oversee accounts payable, goods receipt notes and supplier reconciliations.
• Handle accounts receivable and customer account management.
• Monitor work‑in‑progress, inventory levels and sales orders.
• Perform general‑ledger reconciliations and month‑end close activities.
• Process wages, salaries and leave reconciliations.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and depreciation schedules.
• Support stock control, inventory reporting and financial analysis.
• Ensure strong financial controls and accurate reporting.

Required profile

• BCom degree in Accounting or Finance (essential).
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles with 5+ years post‑articles experience, or 8 years commercial accounting experience.
• Manufacturing industry experience (essential).
• Experience with Syspro or a similar ERP system.
• Strong understanding of stock, inventory, WIP and manufacturing finance.
• Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a deadline‑driven, operational environment.
