Lead Senior Credit Risk Analyst – Western Cape

About the role

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to lead the launch of a new bank that combines digital banking with a large physical retail network. You will establish and grow credit risk modelling, provisioning, and pricing capabilities across the credit lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain credit decisioning and affordability models.
• Design credit pricing and profitability frameworks.
• Build and validate IFRS 9 provisioning models (PD, LGD, EAD).
• Produce forecasting, reporting and analytics for risk monitoring.
• Ensure model governance and compliance throughout the organization.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Engineering or a related quantitative field; postgraduate degree advantageous.
• 5+ years of experience in credit risk, quantitative analysis or data science within banking or financial services, including team‑lead responsibilities.

Required skills

• Strong programming in SAS, Python, R and SQL for statistical analysis and data manipulation.
• Proficiency with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Looker or Tableau.

• Salary range R1.3 million – R1.5 million per annum (excluding bonuses).
