Laboratory Analyst

About the role

Alfred H Knight is seeking three Laboratory Analysts to join the Richards Bay laboratory team. The role ensures work follows documented methods with high accuracy and precision, applying Good Laboratory Practice principles.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high accuracy and precision in all analytical methods by promoting Good Laboratory Practice.
• Follow documented procedures, report any non‑compliance to the Senior Analyst, and manage workload efficiently.
• Maintain audit‑ready records, process analytical data unsupervised, and ensure confidentiality of results.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, calibrations, and instrument checks as instructed.
• Uphold ISO 17025 / SANAS accreditation requirements and ensure a clean, safe laboratory environment.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science, plus an Analytical Chemistry degree or diploma.
• Minimum 2 years of analytical laboratory experience with XRF fused‑bead sample preparation and XRF operation for minerals and coal analysis.
• Good knowledge of ISO 17025, strong written and verbal communication, and ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
