Junior Service Technician (Electrical)

About the role

Our client, a leading chemical manufacturing company, is looking for a hands‑on Junior Service Technician (Electrical) to join their technical team in Durban. You will be responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining and programming chemical dosing and dispensing systems for a variety of commercial and industrial customers.

Key responsibilities

• Install, program, repair and maintain electronic chemical dosing equipment.
• Fit soap dispensers and dosing systems in laundry, kitchen, food‑processing and housekeeping environments.
• Service commercial laundry machines, dishwashers, glasswashers and crate washers.
• Provide on‑site technical support, troubleshooting and after‑hours emergency assistance.
• Conduct client training and ensure all training documentation is completed.
• Prepare detailed service reports and submit weekly technical and call reports.
• Assist with stock management, HSE compliance and branding standards on client sites.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
• Electrical qualification or certification (essential).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant electrical experience.
• Experience with chemical dosing equipment or industrial laundry/dish‑machine systems is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
• Strong attention to detail, independent work ethic and customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Electrical qualification/certification.
• Fault‑finding, repair and maintenance of electrical/mechanical systems.
• Installation and programming of chemical dosing equipment.
• Installation of laundry and industrial dish‑washing systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with MS Teams or Zoom for remote support.
