Junior Project Manager – Project Management Team

About the role

As a Junior Project Manager within Discovery Health Systems' Project Management Team, you will support the delivery of software development initiatives that drive digital transformation for the Discovery Health Business. You will work closely with development managers, business analysts and technical teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate kick‑off meetings with key stakeholders to define project scope, objectives and approach.
• Collaborate with development managers, business analysts and technical teams to gather input for initiation and planning documents.
• Plan, manage and oversee execution of project tasks, ensuring alignment with timelines, objectives and resource availability.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand‑ups, sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Monitor progress, resolve blockers and adjust plans as necessary to achieve project goals.
• Conduct project implementation review workshops.
• Assist in resource allocation to optimise team productivity.
• Monitor project budgets, track expenses and identify variances for timely resolution.
• Provide input on resource requirements and support capacity planning.
• Serve as primary point of contact for stakeholder communication and reporting.

Required profile

• Junior‑level experience or strong academic background in project management, business administration or related field.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Proactive ownership, accountability and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project documentation.

Required skills
