Senior Oracle Developer

About the role

Discovery Life is seeking a Senior Oracle Developer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance systems that support our fast‑paced insurance operations. You will work closely with business analysts and technical teams to translate requirements into robust Oracle‑based solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical designs that meet performance, security, and scalability standards.
• Develop, test, and deploy maintainable Oracle code following established processes and guidelines.
• Conduct unit testing, resolve defects, and ensure build stability before hand‑off to testing teams.
• Collaborate with analysts to create comprehensive test packs and assess risk of identified defects.
• Provide technical support, perform root‑cause analysis of system errors, and assist users with issue resolution.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and continuously improve knowledge of Oracle applications and data models.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and implementing Oracle‑based solutions in a complex, regulated environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to estimate development timelines and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Self‑driven attitude and commitment to delivering high‑quality code on schedule.
