Junior PR & Communications Coordinator

About the role

Hollywoodbets is looking for a motivated Junior PR & Communications Coordinator to join its Purple Team in Umhlanga, Durban. You will support the brand’s public relations and communications efforts, helping to shape its reputation across South Africa and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update a comprehensive public relations report and media database.
• Interpret report data and produce clear, well‑worded analyses.
• Research industry trends in PR, communications, and the betting sector.
• Assist in brainstorming and developing strategies to enhance brand reputation.
• Liaise with internal departments to coordinate publicity for campaigns, events, and news.
• Proofread and copy‑check business documents, marketing copy, media releases, internal communications, radio scripts, speeches, and presentations.
• Build and manage media relationships, host media at events, and conduct interviews for video, print, or online content.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties as required.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence.
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
• Experience in public relations, advertising, or marketing.
• Experience writing for media or within an agency/marketing department.
• Studying towards or completed a degree in English Studies, Copywriting, Public Relations, or a related field.
