Junior Marketing Assistant – Social Media & Content Creation

About the role

Our client in the digital marketing sector is looking for a Junior Marketing Assistant to support the creation and distribution of engaging social‑media content. Based in Johannesburg, you will work in a hybrid model, spending three days a week in the office and two days remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, shoot and edit Instagram Reels, TikToks and YouTube Shorts using CapCut or similar tools.
• Create static graphics, carousels and stories in Canva while following brand guidelines.
• Schedule and publish daily posts on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other platforms, writing platform‑appropriate captions and conducting hashtag research.
• Assist in setting up and monitoring basic Meta Ads campaigns, reporting on key metrics such as CTR, reach and engagement.
• Liaise with external suppliers (printers, design agencies, media outlets) to deliver print‑ready artwork and ensure timely production.

Required profile

• Based permanently in Johannesburg with the ability to commute to the office three days per week.
• 1–2 years of experience in junior marketing, content creation or social‑media roles.
• Strong portfolio showcasing Reels, TikToks, Canva designs or CapCut edits.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Access to a smartphone with a high‑quality camera for content capture.
