Junior Data Analyst – QSR/Restaurant (Newlands East, Durban)

About the role

Our reputable QSR/Restaurant client in Newlands East, Durban is seeking a detail‑oriented Junior Data Analyst. The role involves collecting, processing, cleaning and analysing operational data from various sources, including MICROS POS, to support informed decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and consolidate data from MICROS POS and other sources, then clean, filter, validate and prepare datasets for analysis.
• Analyse data to identify trends, patterns and business insights, and develop automated reporting routines.
• Design, maintain and monitor databases and data systems, resolving data errors and ensuring performance.
• Extract, manipulate and analyse data using SQL, Excel, Power Query and Microsoft Access.
• Develop reports and interactive dashboards with Power BI and prepare analytical reports for operational and management decisions.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Intelligence or related field.
• Minimum 2 + years experience in a Junior Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst or similar role.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities, with capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
