ICT Support Technician

About the role

The company based in Nigel is seeking an experienced ICT Support professional to join its ICT Department. You will provide day‑to‑day technical assistance, maintain network infrastructure and ensure smooth operation of hardware and software for internal users.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications
• Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, system and network issues
• Respond to service desk requests and resolve user issues within SLA requirements
• Set up new user accounts, profiles and passwords
• Replace faulty hardware components where required
• Support the rollout of new applications and system updates
• Maintain ICT documentation and hardware/software registers
• Obtain quotations for ICT‑related repairs and replacements
• Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment
• Test and evaluate new technologies
• Provide user support and technical reporting
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal users and third‑party service providers

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Relevant ICT Diploma or similar qualification
• 3‑5 years corporate IT support experience
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and software
• Experience supporting LAN and WLAN environments
• Proven troubleshooting and technical support experience
• Valid Code B driver’s licence
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight when required
