HR Officer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated HR Officer to manage core human resources functions for our fully remote organisation. You will support talent acquisition, employee relations and HR administration while ensuring compliance with South African labour legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with end‑to‑end recruitment processes, including job posting, screening and onboarding.
• Maintain accurate employee records, contracts and HR documentation.
• Support line managers with performance management and disciplinary procedures.
• Administer leave management, attendance tracking and HR reporting.
• Handle employee queries related to HR policies, benefits and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation and internal HR policies.
• Contribute to employee engagement and culture initiatives.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience as an HR generalist or HR officer.
• Sound knowledge of South African labour law (BCEA, LRA, EEA).
• Experience with HR information systems (HRIS) and payroll platforms.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of discretion.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
• Degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or a related field.
