Group Audit and Tax Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) to lead our Group Audit and Tax function in Johannesburg. The role combines financial governance, audit supervision, and tax strategy to ensure compliance with South African regulations and support strategic decision‑making across the hospitality and property management portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Consolidate ledgers from Xero, Sage 300 and iScala into a central system and drive the year‑end close, including IFRS 9 ECL, IFRS 16 leases and depreciation.
• Prepare full IFRS/IAS group financial statements, elimination journals, cash‑flow workings and disclosures.
• Plan and manage external audit engagements, produce working papers and ensure timely sign‑off.
• Prepare SARS submissions (VAT, PAYE, income tax, provisional tax) and handle queries or audits.
• Migrate and maintain the fixed‑asset register, manage depreciation, revaluations and annual physical verification.
• Champion data integrity between source ERPs and consolidation models, author SOPs and mentor finance controllers.

Required profile

• Qualified CA(SA) with minimum 5 years post‑articles experience in group reporting or audit.
• Deep knowledge of IFRS, IAS and the Companies Act, with experience drafting technical memoranda.
• Proven track record consolidating multiple entities and managing external audits.
• Hands‑on experience with SARS eFiling, e@syFile and transfer‑pricing regulations.
