General Repair Technician

About the role

We are seeking a versatile General Repair Technician to join our Muizenberg team. The ideal candidate enjoys diagnosing faults, repairing a wide range of appliances and electronics, and takes pride in delivering lasting solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and service fridges & freezers, including compressors, thermostats, and gas circuits.
• Diagnose and fix washing machines – motors, pumps, control boards, drums and bearings.
• Troubleshoot home‑theatre amplifiers and car sound equipment, addressing audio circuitry, power supplies and connectivity issues.
• Perform compressor diagnostics, servicing and rebuilds across various applications.
• Maintain power tools – motors, switches, gearboxes, batteries and chargers.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience repairing appliances, electronics or motorised equipment.
• Formal qualification in electrical/electronics/mechanical trades is a plus, but solid practical experience is essential.
• Strong fault‑finding skills across electrical, mechanical and electronic systems.
• Comfortable working across multiple product categories rather than a single specialty.
• Own tools or willingness to use company‑provided equipment.
• Reliability, safety‑conscious attitude and quality‑driven workmanship.
• Good communication skills and accurate repair logging.
