General Production Technician – Entry Level

About the role

CUBECOM is seeking an entry‑level General Production Technician to support the manufacture of space‑qualified hardware. You will start with foundational production tasks and, through a structured training pathway, develop skills in assembly, integration and testing of advanced RF communication systems.

Key responsibilities

• Laser engraving and marking of components and enclosures.
• Cutting, forming and heat‑sealing packaging for finished goods.
• Operating a Cricut machine to cut specialised materials.
• General mechanical assembly and integration across product lines.
• Following written work instructions and drawings accurately.
• Maintaining build records in line with quality management requirements.
• Handling hardware according to ESD and cleanliness procedures.
• Assembling cables and harnesses per work instructions.
• Assisting soldering, QA and AIT technicians as needed.
• Raising basic quality observations and suggesting process improvements.

Required profile

• South African citizenship or valid work permit.
• Grade 12 with a technical subject, N3 Engineering Studies, NCV Level 4 or equivalent, or demonstrable practical experience.
• No minimum experience required; practical aptitude is assessed.
• Ability to work accurately to written instructions.
• Previous exposure to a factory, workshop or electronics assembly environment is a plus.
• Attention to detail, reliability and a willingness to learn on the job.

Required skills
