Food Service & Cashier Support Specialist

About the role

Tshwane North TVET College is seeking qualified, innovative and results‑oriented candidates for several hospitality support positions at its Pretoria campus. Roles include Head of Food Aid Services and Cashiers, Food Service Assistant/Fast‑Food Cashier, and Assistant Chef on a 24‑month fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise food preparation, distribution, serving, and maintain hygiene and safety standards.
• Manage cash‑handling processes: till operation, cash‑up, bank deposits, and reconciliation of cash registers.
• Oversee stock control, ordering, receiving, storage, and monthly inventory reporting.
• Ensure equipment is functional, arrange repairs or replacements, and keep facilities locked after cleaning.
• Provide customer service with a focus on friendliness, politeness, and personal hygiene.

Required profile

• Matric/Level 4 (NCV) in Hospitality or National Diploma/N6 in Hospitality.
• At least 2 years of experience in hospitality or related food service roles.
• Computer literacy and strong organisational abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, under pressure.
• Capability to write reports and maintain accurate records.
