Field Quality & Compliance Manager – Agriculture

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Field Quality & Compliance Manager to ensure premium blueberry quality from farm to packhouse. Reporting to the Product Manager, you will support growers, train harvesting teams and enforce quality protocols across the field.

Key responsibilities

• Train quality supervisors and harvesting crews on product specifications and standards.
• Monitor fruit maturity, conduct in‑field inspections and provide daily feedback.
• Support farm managers with picking plans using real‑time quality data.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, cold‑chain, traceability and foreign‑body risk protocols.
• Oversee field‑packed product, maintain strict hygiene, and sign off export pallets.
• Assist with post‑harvest trials, schedule farm visits and compile field reports.

Required profile

• Matric/Grade 12 (essential) and preferably a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related role.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally.
• Strong communication, planning and organisational abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, results‑driven and able to work independently under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of the fruit/agriculture sector, especially soft fruit (berries) – advantageous.
