About the role
The Innovation Consultant – Technology will lead the identification, evaluation and development of cutting‑edge engineering and technology solutions that boost Rand Water’s operational performance, resilience and competitiveness. Working within the water services division, the role bridges emerging technologies with practical implementation to add measurable value.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and assess innovative engineering and technology opportunities relevant to water service delivery.
- Evaluate the feasibility, impact and scalability of new technologies.
- Manage innovation programmes from concept through pilot testing and rollout.
- Support the implementation of selected solutions, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate innovations that enhance core water services.
Required profile
- Proven ability to identify, evaluate and manage innovative engineering and technology solutions.
- Experience in overseeing innovation programmes and guiding technology adoption.
- Strong understanding of water service operations and the challenges of resilience and competitiveness.
