Executive Housekeeper – Hotel & Conference Center

About the role

Our client, an upmarket hotel and conference centre in Pretoria, is seeking an Executive Housekeeper to lead the housekeeping department. The role reports to the Rooms Division Manager and is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction and operational efficiency across guest rooms and public areas.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule all housekeeping staff, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to brand standards.
• Recruit, train, mentor and appraise team members, handling personnel issues and disciplinary actions.
• Develop, implement and monitor housekeeping procedures, cleaning standards and health‑safety compliance.
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas, resolve guest complaints related to cleanliness.
• Prepare and manage the departmental budget, approve supply requisitions and control inventory.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Maintenance and external vendors for special projects, refurbishment and deep‑cleaning initiatives.

Required profile

• Grade 12 diploma; a qualification in Hospitality Management is advantageous.
• Minimum 2‑3 years supervisory experience in hotel housekeeping.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety standards and housekeeping hygiene protocols.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, inventory and vendor relationships.

Required skills

• Proficient use of MS Office applications.
• Experience with housekeeping or property‑management software.
