Electrical Supervisor

About the role

MC Design & Contracting is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead and coordinate all electrical activities across its projects. You will ensure that work is delivered safely, on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project schedules, labour plans and resource allocations.
• Coordinate electrical work on‑site, aligning activities with other departments and contractors.
• Manage multiple electrical projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks based on urgency and impact.
• Liaise with clients to provide progress updates, resolve concerns and ensure satisfaction.
• Procure raw materials, components, tooling and consumables required for manufacturing and installation.
• Monitor labour hours, overtime and productivity to control costs and avoid scope creep.
• Supervise and provide technical guidance to manufacturing, installation and commissioning teams.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and ISO standards.
• Maintain a high focus on health, safety, housekeeping and environmental compliance.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and mentor junior staff.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or National Technical Certificate (N3).
• Relevant electrical trade qualification (Trade Test) and a valid Wireman’s License (Installation or Master Electrician).
• Proven experience in industrial contracting; automotive or automation experience is highly desirable.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence, own reliable transport and willingness to travel for extended periods.
