T1 Technician – WestWits Mine

About the role

The T1 Technician will deliver comprehensive technical services to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electronic systems that support health, safety and productivity at the WestWits Mine. This onsite position requires immediate availability and proximity to the mine.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, certify and provide technical support for electronic products and systems on the mine.
• Set up and test units to meet specified requirements and perform quality checks in line with company policy.
• Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes and either resolve or escalate to senior staff.
• Maintain electronic equipment and software, record maintenance needs and assist with new projects.
• Operate hand and power tools safely, keep work areas tidy and follow all safety regulations.
• Liaise with other technical staff and site customers to ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Prepare and submit required documentation, reports and paperwork.

Required profile

• N4 qualification in Electrical/Electronics.
• Minimum 4 years experience in electronics (hardware and software) and IT (hardware, networks, software).
• Knowledge of the company’s Advantage product.
• Valid driver’s licence, own vehicle and residence close to the mine.
• Immediate availability.

Required skills

• Electronics hardware and software troubleshooting.
• IT hardware, networking and software proficiency.
• Microsoft Office suite competence.
• Ability to operate hand and small power tools.
