Director – Level 13 Positions (Policy, Socio‑Economic Support, Supply Chain)

About the role

The Department of Military Veterans is recruiting senior directors at Level 13 to lead policy analysis, socio‑economic support programmes and supply‑chain management. Successful candidates will shape national strategies, oversee implementation, and ensure alignment with departmental and government policies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct policy research, analysis and provide recommendations on military veteran affairs, ensuring alignment with national policy and departmental strategy.
• Develop, manage and monitor socio‑economic support policies for education, pension and social relief, including reporting, stakeholder engagement and programme oversight.
• Design and oversee an effective supply‑chain management system, including bid committees, demand management, procurement compliance and anti‑corruption measures.
• Lead and manage directorates, supervise staff performance, and maintain high‑quality reporting and stakeholder relations.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in humanities, political science, governance, law or related field; postgraduate qualification preferred.
• 5‑10 years of senior managerial experience in policy development, socio‑economic programmes or supply‑chain management.
• Willingness to undergo security clearance and possession of a valid driver’s code 08 licence.
• Strong understanding of government procurement processes, PFMA, Treasury regulations and related legislative frameworks.
