About the role

This internship offers a unique opportunity for a criminology or psychology graduate to gain hands‑on experience in crisis management and hostage negotiation. Working under senior consultants, you will observe real‑world kidnapping incidents and learn the decision‑making processes that drive successful resolutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior consultants throughout all stages of kidnapping and incident management, from initial assessment to resolution.
• Organise and maintain confidential case files, communications, and reports.
• Research global kidnapping trends, legal frameworks, and best practices to support strategic decisions.
• Liaise with clients, government agencies, law enforcement, and other stakeholders under supervision.
• Participate in simulated training exercises to develop negotiation, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Required profile

• Highly resilient, able to work well under pressure and think critically.
• Excellent listening, communication, and emotional‑intelligence skills.
• Self‑starter with a tenacious, patient attitude and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Professional conduct, presentable appearance, and a valid South African driver’s licence.
