Communications Project Officer

About the role

Our client, a small but impactful non‑profit in South Africa, is looking for a Communications Project Officer to support both the Communications and Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) portfolios. The role ensures that stories shared through social media, newsletters and other channels are captured systematically in MEL systems.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the publication process with the communications manager, graphic designer and editor, creating timelines and ensuring on‑time delivery.
• Manage printing logistics, obtain quotes, handle invoices and collect printed materials.
• Monitor daily activity on Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn; respond to comments and share relevant content.
• Maintain the “Who to tag” spreadsheet and keep the Mailchimp audience up to date.
• Collect and file posts, photos and stories from partner and staff WhatsApp groups following naming conventions.
• Upload selected photos to the Picket platform each month.
• Support the monthly MEL process by following up on reports, cross‑checking data and providing social‑media statistics.
• Ensure systematic filing and retrieval of documents using Box, OneDrive and Dropbox.

Required profile

• Skilled Project Officer with experience in both communications and MEL functions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple information streams.
• Comfortable coordinating with internal teams, external partners and printers.

• Picket photo‑management platform.
