Business Management Consultant / Broker Consultant

About the role

FNB is seeking a Business Management Consultant, also known as a Broker Consultant, to be based in Cape Town. The role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs) and supporting them with product knowledge and service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Actively build and nurture enduring relationships with IFAs, becoming their go‑to resource.
• Promote and train advisors on FNB Life, Investments and other FirstRand solutions.
• Identify and pursue new business development opportunities aligned with sales growth targets.
• Deliver tailored solutions and exceptional service that exceed advisor expectations.
• Facilitate collaboration between advisors and FNB product specialists on complex client needs.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and new product developments to provide up‑to‑date guidance.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) certificate, NQF 5 qualification, RE5 regulatory examination and relevant Class of Business training.
• 3‑5 years experience as a Broker Consultant within the Investments and IFA environment and at least 3 years in Life Assurance.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Group Risk, Individual Life and Investment products.
• Strong relationship‑building and communication abilities.
• Commercial and sales acumen with a client‑centric focus.
• Attention to detail, curiosity, adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Willingness to travel locally as required.
