Bookkeeper / Accountant – Automotive Dealership

About the role

Our client, a well‑established automotive dealership in Rustenburg, is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper/Accountant to join the finance team. You will manage day‑to‑day accounting activities, ensure accurate financial reporting and support the Financial Manager in maintaining a robust finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full bookkeeping up to trial balance, including cashbook, bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Process supplier invoices, payments and customer account reconciliations.
• Reconcile vehicle stock, floorplan and manufacturer accounts.
• Maintain asset registers and post depreciation journals.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end procedures, VAT reconciliations and submissions.
• Prepare accruals, pre‑payments and support management accounts preparation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements and internal financial controls.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) minimum; a diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is advantageous.
• 3‑5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience within an automotive dealership.
• Strong understanding of dealership accounting processes and VAT handling.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autoline (Keyloop) DMS.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office suite.
