About the role
The Assistant Storeman supports the store team by maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring that materials are readily available for production. This position plays a key part in keeping the supply chain flowing smoothly.
Key responsibilities
- Receive, rotate, and issue stock while maintaining up‑to‑date records.
- Record all items issued from the store daily using Microsoft Excel.
- Supervise store staff, manage their time and attendance, and ensure productivity.
- Clear daily production output from the factory floor.
- Support store management, strategy development, and communication.
- Conduct month‑end stock takes and maintain value‑chain knowledge.
Required profile
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
- Knowledge of raw and production materials.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role and 1‑2 years in stock control.
- Hands‑on approach with the ability to order technical goods.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends and public holidays (6‑day work week).
- Strong competencies such as accuracy, attention to detail, numerical ability, organising and planning skills, teamwork and results orientation.
