Transport Broker – Logistics & Freight Coordination

About the role

The Transport Broker will serve as the commercial and operational link between mining clients and approved transporters, ensuring bulk commodity loads are moved efficiently, safely, and profitably. Based in Brooklyn, Pretoria, the role demands strong relationship‑building, coordination of multiple active loads, and a focus on service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process load requests accurately and within agreed timeframes.
• Confirm client rates, issue load instructions to transporters, and monitor active loads.
• Provide regular updates to clients and resolve delays, breakdowns, or incidents promptly.
• Allocate loads to approved transporters and negotiate rates within approved structures.
• Maintain strong transporter relationships and report performance or compliance concerns.
• Assist with onboarding new transporters and required documentation.
• Achieve monthly load and revenue targets while protecting company margins.

Required profile

• Relevant Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Economics, Business Management, or related field.
• 1–3 years’ experience in transport, logistics, freight, or supply‑chain environments, preferably in road freight brokering or transport coordination.
• Exposure to bulk commodity transport (e.g., chrome, coal, manganese) is advantageous.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and accounts simultaneously under pressure.
• Valid South African driver’s licence, willingness to travel, and after‑hours availability when required.
• Professional communication skills in English.
