Assistant Service Technician

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Service Technician to join Konecranes’ Industrial Service team in Richards Bay. In this full‑time permanent position you will support the inspection, maintenance, repair and modernization of cranes, hoists and related lifting equipment at customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in performing inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs on overhead cranes and hoists at various customer locations.
• Carry out post‑repair audits, document safety features, and attach deficiency tags where required.
• Prepare written safety notifications and recommend corrective actions to customers.
• Identify repair opportunities, generate quotations and communicate them to the local service office.
• Document all service activities using Konecranes’ digital tools and obtain customer signatures.
• Generate sales leads during service calls and report them according to company guidelines.
• Complete service reports and related paperwork accurately and submit them on time.
• Maintain company‑issued tools, vehicles and equipment in safe working order.

Required profile

• Willingness to travel to customer sites and work in varied environments.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and documentation standards.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
